For most people starting a business it is usually because you are good a what you do. Whether that is painting and decorating, building websites, organising events, baking bread or maybe you have developed a great product.
You are excited to get your idea off the ground, but it's worth remembering you are almost certainly not the only one selling your product or services. In fact the chances are there are many businesses already doing what you do. It doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Far from it. But there are many facets to running a business than just doing what you do well.
At North West Business Management we have set-up and ran businesses of all different kinds. The many things we have learned and skills we have gained have often been from talking to other businesses, asking for help and getting support when offered.
Sometimes the right advice can save hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. If it can help you sell more products or find access to much needed finances. Other times it helps to share the unique problems your have to overcome and simply talking something through can help make the right decision.

Quite often when starting a business it's practical things you need help with. How do I set up email accounts and a website? Do I need a logo and how do I organise getting it printed on my shop, van, signage etc. Should I be a limited company or sole trader? If I take someone on, where do I get an employment contract? What do I need to pay someone?
Depending on your experience some people starting up a business may know many of the answers to these questions, however there will inevitably be some things you don't know. Because, when running a business you need to know a lot about a lot of different subjects. Perhaps not from day one. But as you grow and find your feet you will come up against something you simply have no experience in dealing with.
